Having your own basketball system is a great way to improve your skills at home, have fun with your friends or just keep fit in your own back yard. Basketball systems are designed for different needs and types of training – most with the standard size standard size for a basketball ring at 3.05m off the ground.

Types of basketball systems

Wall-mounted basketball systems
These systems can be attached to the side of a building or garage and are normally supplied with w back board, hoops and mount as well as instructions and brackets to affix the system. Wall mounted systems are great addition for the back yard and you can decide on the height of the hoop to suit your space and then needs of the players just check instructions first to ensure you have a suitable area and wall surface to attach the system too.

Portable basketball systems
These standalone units will normally feature a base with wheels, backboard, pole and rim. These are great for being able to play basketball anywhere and if you cannot attach a hoop system to wall.  Portable systems usually need to be stabilised by filling the base with water or sand and even when filled are not as stable as wall mounted systems (be warned if you plan on hanging from your next slam dunk). Some systems are height adjustable so can be a great choice for a family with growing basketballers as they can be scaled and modified as needed.

If your not sure about which system is right for you, why not start with a portable system so you can move it and change is as needed, see what works best for your needs and then consider a more permeant fixed system in the future.
