Feeling flat and no matter how much sleep you seem to get, it just doesn’t seem enough? Perhaps you need to have a look at your diet.
Your body needs fuel to help it function properly, just like a car. If you put the wrong type of petrol in the tank, it won’t run properly. You’ll find the car splutters, it may even conk out. When you regularly skip meals or eat foods high in fats and sugar, it cause your brain to splutter and your body to conk out. The right food is essential to give you the horsepower you need to think clearly and perform day-to-day activities.
Lack of good fats
Not all fats are created equal. There are three types of fats. Trans fat and saturated fats are the bad ones, the ones that will see you headed for a heart attack if you’re not careful. However non-saturated fats contain essential fatty acids which give you longer lasting energy. You will find these in foods such as fish like Mackerel and Salmon, nuts and avocados.
Lack of minerals and vitamins
If you are lacking in essential vitamins and minerals, this can have a detrimental effect on your energy levels. Females who experience heavy periods may be suffering from a lack of iron., known as anemia. Lack of vitamin B and D can also cause lethargy.
When you don’t drink enough water your heart has to work harder, making you feel tired. Dehydration can make you feel mentally sluggish, lethargic and cause a host of other symptoms.
